About

Will Carlotto is a Brazilian composer and instrumentalist from Rio Grande do Sul. Self-taught from childhood and shaped by his teenage years in rock bands, his musical language expanded through the Japanese cultural wave of the early 2000s.

His scores for Horizontes da Vida (2025), O Carnaval de Jack (2026), and the award-winning short film Mikaela (2020) combine orchestral and electronic textures with multicultural influences.

His influences include Japanese composers Makoto Yoshimori, Takashi Yoshimatsu, Junichi Matsumoto, and Masashi Hamauzu, along with Brazilian musicians Yamandu Costa, Conrado Paulino, and Guinga. His work explores nature, human psychology, and their increasingly obscured connection within contemporary urban life.
